The Maju Retro Cruise Party

I'm always busy or I'm always working. I'm always doing something though. . . If it's any consolation (for me) I'll be off on a new adventure pretty soon.

In the meantime the TROS (That Re Of Sunshine) team have been prepping for the MAJU collection debut. Whoop whoop!


The Retro Cruise Party

Female fashion brand Maju and multi-brand concept store L’Espace invite you to the Maju “Retro Cruise” party on Sunday 4 August, 2013 from 12 noon at L’Espace 19A Olosa Street, Victoria Island Lagos.

Maju will be debuting her new collection: The Retro Cruise collection at Lagos' main fashion destination. The event is an opportunity for stylists, people who love fashion, and potential buyers to view the new collection.

With the Retro Cruise collection, Maju caters to the various fashion tastes of women. The creative team was inspired by the Summer season, sunshine and the beach. They have brought to play bright lovely colours in this collection. Summer is fun and the best way to rock this summer is with beautiful glamorous pieces by Maju. All pieces will also be available for purchase on site.

Maju is a female fashion label found in 2008 by Motunrayo Umaru. Maju’s creations are always upbeat with today’s fashion and some of her designs also carry a vintage look. Maju’s creations include accessories, purses, bags and clothes.

L’Espace is a multi-brand concept store located in Victoria Island, Lagos. Created by the CEO duo, Isoken Ogiemwonyi and Wonuola Okoye in December 2011. L’Espace is an expansion of their wildly successful ‘Le Petit Marche’ - a monthly fashion and lifestyle market founded 3 years earlier. The store has been named one of Lagos's main fashion destinations and has received notable recognition for its contribution to the Nigerian retail industry.

Maju Returns

Bonjour,

It's been a while since I mentioned Maju. Well you'll be please to know that Maju is back with some amazing new pieces. (Somebody shout Hallelujah!)

In her mind: what one should I pick? Hmmmnn. . .this one maybe?

Wondering where you can check out the new collection and buy yourself a piece or two or more? Maju will be at 47th edition this month's Le Petite Marche.

In her mind: Ok maybe I should just wear this dress, but hold on, the bags come in different shapes, patterns and colours. What's a girl to do? Buy 'em all!

Let's Try Something New

Been busy living life and enjoying every minute of it. Believe it or not, this sister is letting her hair down (I really am). Haven't done anything exciting yet (meaning I'm going to do something outrageous real soon); I like to entertain myself. Asides from work, I've been busy investing in myself and learning new stuff.

Took acting classes three, four weeks ago. I'm not thinking of becoming an actress but I've been told that to be a good presenter, you've got to be a good actor. While at I was at broadcasting school, I kept being told "Princess you are great but you need to know how to act your script". Now I'm learning. Acting class was so interesting got to meet creative minds and amazing film makers. During the improv circles, I heard my voice in a completely different way, I was scared. I just couldn't believe the voice I was hearing was mine. I've made a couple of videos. Will show you guys when I have the courage to.

Social Media Marketing Boot Camp with Okechukwu Ofili: Seeing as I currently work in Digital Media (and marketing) I thought it would be important I attended it. Thank God I went, It was amazing. Won't be sharing what I learnt with you :p.

Went to this this Fashion Film Talk thing a week ago with film maker Kathryn Ferguson and designer David Saunders. Just know my next fashion film will be fab. *Fingers crossed.

Last night, I started cooking classes with Chef Hassan. I CAN cook but don't you get tired of cooking and eating the same thing all the time. Right now, I absolutely refuse to eat rice or indomie (except I'm really hungry or I don't have a choice). Last night, I learnt how to make salad dressing from scratch, chilli, shredded chicken and beef, white sauce and chicken escalope.

Chicken Escalope, Chips and Veggies. Yum! Was real proud of myself till Bros mentioned it needed salt. My friend David called it the "unsalted escapade" Lol!

Looking forward to working at Chef H's restaurant this weekend. He's going to let me cook for his customer's after my 3rd lesson. Woo Hoo!

Mente de Moda

The We Own The Night WOTN team know for their photography and WOTN nights held every first Saturday of every month at Rehab has come up with an eccentric way to showcase the Nigerian art and design industry.

The WOTN team has come up with Mente de Moda to celebrate those who want to exhibit their art, fashion and photography skills.

The first edition of Mente de Moda would be held on the 5^th of June 2011 at Ember Creek, Ikoyi, Lagos.

You can catch this sister there behind or beside the MAJU stall where I hope WOTN members; Demi and PJ will "shoot me". In case you are wondering what I mean by "shoot me", It means take a picture of me. x

The L'Amour Collection

This sister has been busy putting together a fashion show/sale/exhibition for the new Maju collection. My very first event. I'm so excited, nervous and stressed; call it mixed feelings if you want.

With the L’Amour collection, Maju caters to the various fashion tastes of women. Do you believe in love at first sight? Well I do! Can't even count the number of Maju pieces I've fallen in love with. Here are some pieces from the new collection.

I love the new bag charms

The show will feature jewelry designer I.N.O jewelries, the very best in customized t-shirts and polos Thots on Tees and make up for the event will be done by Face It: We face the face.

I.N.O (Ibironke Nihma Oduniyi) jewelries by Ronke Oduniyi is a Nigerian based outfit that designs and produces jewelry using precious metals such as silver and gold, semi precious (gold filled) beads of all types and Swarovski crystals. They are specially known for their customized name pendants.Their jewelry products include earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings.

Thots on Tees by Michael Chibogx is a fashion and branding company involved with making customized tees and polos for personal and corporate use. Micheal voices his thoughts on his tees ;-).

The event is taking place on 20^th of February 2011, from 3pm at the Ember Creek number 32 Awolowo road Ikoyi Lagos. Ember Creek is an outdoor restaurant, bar and lounge located on the waterfront of McGreggor creek Ikoyi. Its a fashion cafe with good music, a variety of cocktails and great food!

Enough grounds for any Executive Event

So its going to be a evening of fashion and glamour. Hope you guys attend the event. Remember to bring cash and your cheque book guys!!!

Got a new client, so I must say this PR business seems to be going good for me right now. Officially, I’m the director of Interphabe Trust Limited. Yes a sister has got a ‘registered company’. For now, all my company handles is Publicity/Public relations and the works. I'm so excited! I love saying ‘my company’!

The name of my new client is Accessories for you By Diri run by Diri Onyenani. It’s your one stop-shop for fashion jewellery and accessories.
